It&#8217;s taken me almost a year and a half to get my hair back to &#8220;normal&#8221;. What caused my hair loss? Several things&#8230; Multiple surgeries under anesthesia, two rounds of intense hormones with egg freezing, a horrible breakup, and so much stress. BUT, surprisingly the real root cause is genetics. When I was asked if I wouldn&#8217;t wash my face every day my obvious response was NO. So, guess what? Your scalp is part of your face! That means if you sweat or put a product in your hair just like putting makeup on your face you need to wash it off. Believe me, it&#8217;s hard to do it every single day and I realistically only wash it about 4-5 times a week but it&#8217;s been one of the absolute biggest factors in growing my hair longer and thicker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P.S. Your hair needs moisture more than anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LET YOUR HAIR AIR DRY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Actually, your hair is the most fragile when it&#8217;s wet. It&#8217;s better to dry your hair immediately after you shower using a low speed and low temperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HAIR VITAMINS WORK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not really&#8230; You&#8217;re better off with a multivitamin. Almost all the hair vitamins you think of like Nutrafol don&#8217;t have enough nutrients in them to make a difference. That&#8217;s why Dr. Yaker has prescription hair drops applied directly to the scalp to help the root follicle grow. Between 4 and 5 is the absolute best. If you don&#8217;t see the PH number on the bottle or website call the customer support number for the brand to find out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P.S. Definitely get a scalp scrubber and get in there to get all the buildup gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DON&#8217;T USE DRY SHAMPOO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like I mentioned above, the reason you need to wash your hair daily is that you are clogging the pores on your scalp by using dry shampoo and other products. Think about how clogged those pores are after several dry shampoo days!! Ewwwwwww!!!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GET PRP TREATMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not going to lie, PRP treatments are not cheap. However, they really do help. I got 6 PRP treatments done for my scalp over 2 years. Rice water is actually a GREAT thing for hair growth. Use silk hair ties or clips if you must! This is truly a journey and I&#8217;m still dealing with it. You can still wear hair extensions during the hair growth process if you feel more comfortable, but I&#8217;d try not to. Also, you can still get your hair colored like normal. Just make sure to do masks 1-2 times a week and be gentle with your hair as it grows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This process is truly from the inside out starting with your hair follicle at the root.
